Male-dominated industries: Agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, Construction, Transportationand storage, information and communication.

Female-dominated industries: Education, human health and social work activities, other service activities. Activities of households as employers, undifferentiated goods and services producing activities ofhouseholds for own use.

Data is to a large extent collected from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) which is an inquiry directed to households, designed to obtain information on the labour market and related issues through a series of personal interviews. LFS adopted a new methodology from 2021 onwards, leading to a break in time series for all countries in 2021.
